Intraoral Cameras
During your regular exams, our dentists will do more than merely look over your mouth with their eyes alone. They can show you exactly what they see using a small intraoral camera, which projects crystal-clear images onto a nearby monitor as we maneuver it around in your mouth. Not only does this let us spot signs of dental concerns early on, but you can also understand what the problem is and why we may recommend a particular method of treatment.
All-Digital X-Rays
X-ray technology has progressed significantly since the days of needing to get film developed in a darkroom. These days, we use fully digital X-rays to view high-definition images of your teeth and jawbone almost instantly. As a result, we can make more accurate diagnoses much sooner, leading to more effective treatment. Plus, digital X-rays take a mere fraction of the time that traditional film ones do, and they emit up to 90% less radiation.

3D Cone Beam Imaging
For highly advanced treatments that require the utmost precision, such as dental implant surgery and root canal therapy, a two-dimensional X-ray won’t give us all of the information we need. In these cases, we utilize a Planmeca 3D cone beam scanner. As this device rotates around your head for about a minute, it captures dozens of photos, which it then uses to create a three-dimensional model of your mouth, jaw, and facial structures. This way, we can plan to make your treatment as safe, comfortable, and effective as possible.
Digital Impression System
Before we can design a veneer, crown, or other dental restoration, we need to take impressions of your mouth so that the end result feels comfortable and looks natural. Instead of doing this by having you bite into a messy chunk of putty, we’ve modernized the impression process with the Planmeca Emerald™ S system. We just take digital scans of your teeth, and our computer generates a model for your restoration. This method is more comfortable, creates more precise results, and takes much less time compared to traditional impressions.
